Bihar School Librarian Eligibility Test (LET) 2026

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is holding the School Librarian Eligibility Test (Vidyalaya Pustakalayadhyaksh Patrata Pariksha) 2026 under Advt. No. PR 221/2026. It is an eligibility test, not a direct recruitment: candidates who pass get an eligibility certificate, which is needed for school librarian posts in Bihar under the Bihar Vidyalaya Pustakalayadhyaksh Niyamavali, 2025. The test is a 150-minute computer based test of 150 multiple-choice questions: Library Science 100 marks and General Knowledge 50 marks, 1 mark per question, no negative marking. Results are prepared on normalised scores because the test runs in several shifts.

Indian citizen and resident of Bihar. A graduate degree with at least 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/EBC/BC/PwD/women/EWS, for Bihar residents only) and a graduate degree in Library Science from a recognised university. Alim (Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University / Bihar State Madrasa Education Board) and Shastri (KSDSU Darbhanga) degrees count as graduation. Age as on 01.08.2026: minimum 21 years; maximum 37 (UR male), 40 (UR female), 40 (BC), 40 (EBC), 42 (SC/ST). PwD +10 years; ex-servicemen get their service period plus 3 years (actual age at most 57); relaxation of 10 years under rule 4.1(V) of the 2025 Niyamavali. Fee: Rs 960 (General/BC/EBC), Rs 760 (SC/ST/PwD). Pass marks: General 50%, BC 45.5%, EBC 42.5%, SC/ST 40%, PwD 40%, women 40%.

Computer Based Test of 150 MCQs in 150 minutes (Library Science 100 + General Knowledge 50), no negative marking; pass/fail on the normalised score (e.g. a General candidate needs 75 of 150 after normalisation). Passing candidates get the School Librarian Eligibility Certificate.

Apply online only at https://sletregistration.cbrt.co.in in three steps: registration (OTP on mobile), filling the form (photo 80-200 KB, 3.5 x 4.5 cm; signature 50-200 KB) and paying the fee by debit/credit card, net banking or UPI. Upload self-attested Matric, Inter, graduation and Library Science certificates, residence certificate and, where claimed, caste/non-creamy-layer, PwD and ex-servicemen certificates.
