Bihar Police Radio (Wireless) Assistant Sub-Inspector (Technical) Recruitment 2026 - Exam Pattern STAGE 1: PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION Total: 100 marks, 100 objective (MCQ) questions, Duration: 2 hours Negative marking: 0.2 marks deducted per wrong answer Minimum 30% marks required to qualify for Main Examination Sections: 1. General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 40 questions 2. Technical Subject (candidate chooses ONE group) - 60 questions, Polytechnic level Group (a): Electronics & Communication Group (b): Electronics & Tele Communication Group (c): Information Technology Group (d): Electrical & Electronics Selection for Main Examination: 20 times the number of vacancies, category-wise, based on Preliminary Exam marks. STAGE 2: MAIN EXAMINATION Two question papers, Total Duration: 4.5 hours (Paper 1: 1.5 hours + Paper 2: 3 hours) Negative marking: 0.2 marks deducted per wrong answer in both papers Paper 1 - General Language Knowledge (100 marks, Intermediate level, objective MCQ, Qualifying only - marks not counted in merit) - General Hindi - 50 marks - General English - 50 marks Minimum qualifying marks: 30 Paper 2 - Technical Subject (100 marks, 100 objective MCQ questions, Polytechnic level) - candidate answers the SAME group chosen in Prelims Group (a): Electronics & Communication Group (b): Electronics & Tele Communication Group (c): Information Technology Group (d): Electrical & Electronics Minimum qualifying marks: 33% Selection for Physical Efficiency Test: Maximum 5 times the number of vacancies, category-wise, based on Paper 2 marks of Main Examination. STAGE 3: PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST / MEDICAL EXAMINATION (Qualifying only, no marks) - Race: Men - 1 mile (1.6 km) in max 7 minutes; Women - 1 km in max 7 minutes - High Jump: Men - min 3 feet 6 inches; Women - min 2 feet 6 inches - Long Jump: Men - min 10 feet; Women - min 7 feet - Shot Put: Men - 16 lb shot, min 14 feet; Women - 12 lb shot, min 8 feet Final Merit List: Based on marks obtained in Paper 2 of the Main Examination.

Bihar Police ASI (Technical) Exam Pattern & Selection

Preliminary Exam (100 marks, 100 MCQs, 2 hours - General Knowledge & technical subject) qualifying at 30% cutoff; Mains Exam with Paper-I (General Hindi & English, 100 marks, 1.5 hours, qualifying 30%) and Paper-II (Technical subject, 100 marks, 3 hours, qualifying 33%); followed by qualifying Physical Efficiency Test (race, high jump, long jump, shot put); final merit based on Mains Paper-II marks.
